My top priority is creating a more prosperous climate for job growth and economic investment. I sponsored the repeal of the 22 % Business Tax surcharge which had been plaguing our business community since it was enacted. As chairman of the House Republican Strategic Task Force on Jobs, I worked with my colleagues in the House as well as business leaders and individuals across the state to produce a plan to get Michigan back to work. Our state's government must turn Michigan around by reinvigorating, reinvesting, and reforming our state's economy and creating an environment that fuels the economic engine in our state: small businesses.
